Computer skills First lecture



Computer skills   (lecture 1)


Today we r going to study widows 7 that introduced by Microsoft, it is after windows visita, its include many new features &combined with Microsoft office 20007

START UP WENDOWS : after you start your computer the first thing u see is the DESKTOP is your work area .

What can u see on the desk top ? Icons of programs ,folders and documents.

TASKBAR:  is located on the bottom. You can click the taskbar and drag it to other location

RECYCLE BIN: when you delete an object ,when windows 7 send it to the recycle bin .

Click the START BUTTON to display the START MENU to open programs and searching for files.

When using windows7 , each program , document or other type of file opens in own window .

When u click the POWER BUTTON , window 7 saves all your work, turns off the display screen and puts ur computer in sleep mode .

To indicate that ur computer is in SLEEP MODE : some of lights on your commuter may blink and change color.

To wake up your computer : press your computers power _on switch

When you need to SHOUT YOUR COMPUTER DOWN you have to:
Click start button  --- >  start menu --- > click shout down.

TO START A PROGRAM - >  start button --- > menu showing the programs --- > click the program you want to open

You can use the search box to locate programs or anything else that is located on your computer.

 TO ADD A PROGRAM to the first page of the start menu :
Find the program name in all program list ---- > right _click ----- > click pin to start menu

TO REMOVE IT: right click --- >click unpin from start menu

TO COPY AN ITEM that is located on the start menu or the program menu :
Right_click the item --- > click copy
You can paste the copy to ur desk top to create a DESKTOP SHORTCUT
Right_click  on ur desktop -- > click paste
Or click send to --- > desktop

TO DELETE A  DESKTOP SHORCUT :
Click the shortcut --- > press the delete key --- > yes

TO RENAME AN ITEM:
Right _click --- > rename ---- < type new name -- > press enter

CHANGE DATE AND TIME :
Click on the start button -- > control panel -- > date and time --- >click change date and time -- > ok

WALLPAPER CHANGE   ( BACKGROUND) :
Right click on ur desktop and click personalization and select the wallpaper you want
Click to select how u want your image to appear on screen : center or tile or stretch

SCREEN SAVER CHANGE :
Change the screen saver ,, you can select the period of time  click
